formerly of Rockwood passed away suddenly Tuesday December 4th, 2018, he was 61. Mike lived in Victoria BC for the past 40 years. He retired from the Navy and enjoyed his life on the island. He bought a Harley Davidson and was very passionate about riding. Mike was a tremendous cook (which he inherited from his Mom) and loved to put out a big spread when his family and friends came to visit. He would have two BBQs fired up and they both would be full with enough food to feed the Navy. Mike was in Ontario three times this year, we are all very thankful we got to spend the extra time with him. He has left behind one son and best friend Nathan, his Mother Lore Hanousek, sisters Silvia Cadman, (husband Rob and nephews Christopher and Ryan), Rose Geneau (husband Maurice, niece Angie husband Chris and nephew Luc) and Tanya Delurey (husband Vince, niece Sarah husband Clay and nephew Jake). His brother Paul, sister-in-law Joan and the “freeloaders” that liked to head west and enjoy his cooking and watch NASCAR and Barret Jackson with him, Laura Hanousek her husband Paul Alfano, PJ Hanousek his wife Tracey Cressman and Jeremy (Jerry) Hanousek. Mike will be missed, but his “one liners” like “sometimes they just get it right” and “first I gotta get high” will bring a smile to our faces for many years to come.
