It is with great sadness to announce the passing of Murray A. Halls, just shy of his 87th birthday. Murray passed away peacefully at Hospice Wellington on August 15, 2021, following a battle with Covid-19 and more recently a traumatic fall. He will be remembered by his lifelong best friend of Deborah James, Erika Dutton, John Mason, Donald Webb, Kathie MacLauchlan, and many more close friends. Too many to mention, but you know who you are! Murray will be missed by his niece Jayne Patrick, and nephews, Brian Halls, Brad Halls, Al and Norm Halls, Jim Mackenzie and cousin Doug French. Predeceased by his parents, Allan and Elizabeth Halls, brothers Jim Halls, Lorne Halls, and sisters Lanore Mackenzie and Flora Nixon. Murray had an extremely fun-filled life. He moved from Fergus to Guelph as a young man and successfully ran his own real estate business for over 50 years. He was well known in the community. Murray had a trailer at Carson Camp at Sauble Beach, where he spent many happy days, with great friends, keeping everyone entertained with his outgoing and funny personality. Murray will be fondly remembered for his “joke” telling abilities. Everyone reading this will know Murray for his great story telling. He would light up a room with his sense of humour and practical jokes, leaving us all laughing for hours. Murray’s love of life was remarkable. He truly touched so many hearts. It was Murray’s wishes not to have a formal service. A celebration of life will be held at a later date in September. Further info to follow. A private interment service will be held at the Belsyde Cemetery in Fergus. Arrangements entrusted to the Wall-Custance Funeral Home & Chapel. Special mention to the one special nurse named Susan, who displayed such compassion and spectacular care to Murray during his last days. Also to the nurses on 4 East at Guelph General Hospital.
