To all who knew and loved him, passed away peacefully on Friday August 18, 2023 watching the cardinals play outside his window. He leaves behind his wife Mary, the love of his life, his soulmate for more than 48 years; his daughter Lisa Hohenadel (Michael), his son Andrew (Denise) and three beautiful granddaughters Avery, Amelia and Ariyanna. Mike is also survived by 3 brothers, John of Woodbridge, Tom of Brampton and Gary, his best friend (Pat) of Guelph. Mike was loved by nieces, nephews, in laws, family and friends too numerous to count. His presence on earth was a gift. We are grateful. A celebration of Life is planned at Mike and Mary’s home, 6684 7th Line, Belwood on Sat. Sept 16th, 1 to 5pm. At Mikes gentle request (strict order with threat of recrimination from the beyond), no tears will be shed, no speeches made (even by Cory), but when you are sitting around a campfire having a brew with a friend, give him a thought and a cheers, he’ll be listening, (who’s he kidding, he’s deaf as a post). He has only this wisdom to impart: “If somebody climbs on the back of your Kawi when your life is going nowhere, don’t ask questions, just head for the horizon and you’ll end up at home” and “Shut the door, you’re letting the flies in!” As expressions of sympathy donations to the Parkinson’s foundation (https://www.parkinsons.ca) or to any other passion close to your heart would be appreciated by the family.
