GRIMMER, Maureen Patricia; of Belwood, passed away peacefully with her 7 children by her side on January 31st, 2015 at the age of 76. Maureen was the loving and devoted wife of 55 years to the late Peter Grimmer (Aug. 31, 2014). She was the dear mother of Kim, Deborah, Denize, Anneliza, Marina, Michelle, and Peter, and their spouses, Don, Matt, Sharon and Mary. She was the proud and loving Nana to 16 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren, all of whom will miss her dearly. Maureen will be sadly missed by her sister Marlene. Sister-in-laws Anne, Sylvia, Di, and Barbara, along with brother-in-laws Fred, Steve, and John will all miss her profoundly. Maureen will also be missed by many nieces and nephews. Maureen was a wonderful mother who poured every ounce of her heart and soul into the lives of her children. She loved unconditionally and without judgement. Maureen was kind-hearted, gentle, and strong spirited. She was always there; through happy times or hard times when you needed a shoulder to cry on. Maureen enjoyed music immensely and even learned to play the bass guitar and saxophone. Her true talent lay with her beautiful Jazz-like voice. Maureen loved to sing along with Peter as he played the piano and guitar. The music they made together truly touched the souls of all who witnessed its beauty. She was very well respected, valued, and loved by everyone who was blessed enough to have known her. A truly beautiful soul has left us but has joined her one true love, Peter, in God’s Kingdom. A private memorial service was well attended by her family and friends. Her children would like to thank everyone for their continued love and support through this difficult time. Mum…may you rest in peace. It brings us comfort knowing that you will have eternal happiness with Dad. We will miss you deeply and our lives will be forever changed.
