Obituary

Geoff, a long time resident of Hillsburgh, passed away peacefully at his home in Guelph ON, June 28, 2019. He was a loving husband of 68 years to Beryl Greaves (nee Green); father to Rachel Greaves, Philip Greaves and his wife Susan, and Melissa Bottomley and her husband Craig; grandfather to Leah (nee Theriault) and Matt Senior, Sheena (nee Theriault) and Colin Murray, Reuben Theriault and Shannon, Derek Greaves and Miruna, Olivia Greaves and Trevor Palmer, Kate Bottomley and Emma Bottomley; great-grandfather to Nate and Neil Senior, Ethan and Walker Palmer. He was born in Worcester, England on October 10, 1928 and immigrated with Beryl and daughter Rachel to Canada in 1954 with a dream of owning his own farm. It wasn’t until 1965 that this dream was realized when he purchased 122 acres on the 8th line in Hillsburgh. He enjoyed many years in Hillsburgh working part-time on his farm raising cattle and pigs while also working for Wardair / Canadian Airlines at the Toronto Airport. He enjoyed many years traveling throughout the world, and spending winters in St. Augustine, Florida, and summers at Wasaga Beach. He was fortunate to overcome many health issues in the past 32 years, and always had an event on his social calendar that he did not want to miss. His untiring perseverance and strength was an inspiration to all. He will truly be missed. A celebration of his life will take place at a later date for family and close friends.
