Graaskamp, Gerrit (Gary); On January 14, 2013 Gerrit (Gary) Graaskamp was taken to be with his Lord. The family is comforted with the words of 2 Timothy 4:7 “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” Gerrit Willem Graaskamp was born in Winterswijk, Netherlands on July 19, 1940. Beloved husband of Mary Graaskamp, Father of Caroline and Kevin VanDriel, Julia Kawczynski, Irene and Jay Mills, Gary and Julia Graaskamp, Nicole Graaskamp, Dorothy and Nick Fiorino, and Rachel and Bryan Stuart. Grandfather to Matthew, Michael, Emily & Ashley VanDriel, Amber-Leigh Graaskamp, Kayla and Dustin Kawczynski, Diana, Victoria and JJ Mills, Natasha & Lexi Fiorino, and Malachi Stuart. Beloved son-in-law of Maria VanSpronsen. Beloved brother of Johan, Ben & Annie Graaskamp, Gerda & Pete Visser, Johanna Albers, Meintje and Jan deVries. Brother-in-law of Coby and John Keizer, Hendrika Hoekstra, Gerda and Durk Hoekstra, and Edith and Barry Butts. Predeceased by his daughter Diana Graaskamp (1992), his parents Willem and Hanna Graaskamp, sister and brother-in-law Doortje and Henk Hogebrug, and Gerrit Graaskamp, brothers-in-law Peter Albers, Abe VanSpronsen, and Jake Hoekstra, father-in-law Gerrit VanSpronsen, and nephews Matthew Van Blyderveen & Ron Albers. Visitation was held at the Graham A. Giddy Funeral Home, 280 St. David Street South, Fergus on Friday, January 18, 2013 from 2:00 – 4:00 and 7:00 – 9:00 P.M. Interment took place prior to the service on Saturday 9:45am, at Woodlawn Cemetery, 762 Woolwich St, Guelph. A Funeral Service was held at The Elora Road Christian Fellowship Church, 5696 Wellington Road #7, Guelph, Ontario on Saturday, January 19, 2013 at 11:00 am.
