It is with great sadness that the family of Barbara Ann Gow (nee Rose) announce her passing on Sunday August 8 2021 at the Village of Riverside Glen (LTC) in Guelph Ont. in her 84th year. Barbara moved to Elora Ont. several years ago and previously resided in Toronto, Kelowna B.C., and Kingston Ont. Beloved wife of William for 64 years, mother of Jeffrey, his wife Laura, Grandson Daniel, and his fiancé Ashlee Dickison (Nova Scotia). Mother of Kevin, Granddaughter Felicia as well as her fiancé Daniel Skripkariuk (Mississauga). Barbara is also survived by her sister Betty Hendry (Victoria B.C.) and sister Marina Hughson & her husband Mel (Kingston). Pre-deceased by sister Audrey Weber (Kingston). Barbara has many sister, & brother in-laws, nieces, nephews as well as many, many friends who will greatly miss her. Over the last several years Barb was a tireless volunteer with both the St. John’s the Evangelist Anglican Church (Elora) wearing several different hats within the church as well as volunteered with the Elora Festival again taking on several different positions within the organization. Barbara was recognized for her volunteer work in July 2019 with the “Florence Nightingale Memorial Community Service Award” which she considered a great honor to receive. Barb enjoyed so many things in life, from sitting at her trailer watching the river flow by, working in her gardens, cheering on her favorite sports teams, cooking great meals or curled up with a good book and a glass of wine. However her favorite thing was family. She dearly loved all of her family and enjoyed nothing more that talking with them, having a visit or lending a hand. All Funeral arrangements will be private and have been entrusted to Kitchener Funeral Home and Crematorium in Kitchener Ont. A celebration of life will be planned for a future date.
