GARHAM, Margaret Vera

GARHAM, Margaret Vera, Jan 25, 1919 to Jan 23, 2018. It is with great sadness that our family announces the peaceful passing of Margaret Vera Graham, (nee: Hunter), on January 23, 2018, at the age of 98, at Windsor’s Village of Aspen Lake LTC. Formerly of London, she was the dearly loved wife of Lloyd Gordon Graham (2006) for 64 years.  Cherished mother of son, Paul G. Graham and wife Bonnie (Fergus, ON) and of daughter Mary M. and husband Lloyd Cole (Tecumseh, ON). Dearly loved grandmother of Lindsay Cole, Paula and husband Doug Thompson, and Gregory Cole. Proud great grandmother of Graham Thompson. Predeceased by her parents Mary (nee: McLean) and Etheridge Hunter. Predeceased by brother Wilburt (Marjory) and sisters, Edna (Jim), Mildred (Jim, and on Jim’s passing, Knute), Muriel (Tony) and Marion (Jack). She will be remembered fondly by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Margaret became a registered nurse in St. Thomas and actively practiced there and in London, until 62 years of age. She was a long-term member of the Salem Nilestown Women’s Institute. Margaret and her husband Lloyd, enjoyed many years of fishing, canoeing, boating, and visiting with their friends, at their northern summer home on Rabbit Lake near Temagami. Together they also enjoyed hiking many long stretches of the Bruce Trail. Margaret was an avid reader and a lifelong learner. She had a zest for life and lived this to the end. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, February 4, 2018 at 1:00 PM, preceded by visitation from 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM and followed by a time of fellowship in the reception room of Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 1997 Dundas St. East, London, ON N5V 1P6. (519-455-9343). Interment is to take place at the Rodney Cemetery at a later date.
