Passed away peacefully at home, with family by her side on Tuesday, October 11 in her 81st year. Predeceased by her husband, John (2015) and her son William Gibson. Loving mother to Terry (Theresa), Patricia Crowder (Ric) and Lynn Gammie. Proud nan of Jeremy, Rebecca, Kyle, Bobby, Joseph, Nicole, Codey, Christopher, Vanessa, Justin and Laveen, as well as many great-grandchildren. Survived by her brother John Gibson (Sheila), brother-in-law Glen Marshall and sister-in-law Pearl Gibson. Predeceased by her brother Paul Gibson, sister Jean Marshall and by her parents Austin and Rosemary Gibson. If you knew Meryl (mum/nan), you knew she was an incredibly kind and generous woman. She loved to garden, solve word finds, scratch her tickets, listen to the radio and chat on the phone. Meryl was an extremely independent woman, so much so she would drive through the roundabout backwards just to get to her beloved bingo games. Since the pandemic she took up TV bingo, she would fill the entire coffee table with her 16 bingo cards, taping each pad down one by one. If you ever tried to join her in bingo, you know how hard it is to keep up with just 3 cards, let alone 16. Nan (mum) liked her meat well done (like almost burnt) and her coffee hot. Most importantly, she loved her family dearly. There are many memories that fill our hearts when we think of her. Her family was the most important thing to her. She was the best and she was so loved and will be very missed. Cremation has taken place, and as per Meryl’s wishes there will be no funeral service at this time. A private interment will be held for family. In lieu of flowers or donations, Meryl would love for you to visit friends and family to share love and make memories.
