Beloved Sister, Daughter, Best Friend, Granddaughter, Niece, Cousin, Copernican Co-Worker, Spacebarn DJ, Ranger of Life; Laura Evelyn Gallant unexpectedly left this realm late on Wednesday, January 5, 2022 at the young age of 28. Anyone that was lucky enough to know Laura knew that she was a connoisseur of life. She lived it to the absolute fullest. Some say she did more in her short 28 years than most people could accomplish in a lifetime of 100. Laura was born in Orangeville, Ontario on April 26, 1993 lovingly welcomed by parents Ed Gallant and Janine Gallant (Colquette) and proud big sister, Julia. Laura’s loving spirit and generous heart could be felt by anyone she came in contact with. She had a special gift of not only seeing the good in people but bringing out the best in them as well. She was a best friend to so many; whether you knew Laura for 5 minutes, 5 hours or 5 years, Laura was a shining unforgettable light in your life. She spent 14 years working at Copernicus Educational Products in her hometown, Arthur, Ontario. She wore many hats around the company throughout the years but was always a treasured friend in every department. Laura was an avid lover of the outdoors and enjoyed spending her time surrounded in nature and exploring it as much as possible. She loved camping, especially in recent years with the luxury of her custom made camper van that many know as “Blue Moon Savana”. Laura in nature was something to behold as she had a way of drawing out snowy owls and other wild animals. Her love for the outdoors brought out the happy free spirit that gave her the nickname of “Ranger Laurie”. Laura also had a love of music, which was an expression of her emotions and her individuality. Laura evolved from the years of making homemade CD’s for her friends and family to being one of the most remarkably talented DJ’s around. Laura is known for travelling to music festivals all over the globe. If she wasn’t dancing in a field somewhere, she could be found dancing in her parents kitchen or at the basement bar. Laura’s love for the outdoors and music were only surpassed by the love she had for her family and friends. The relationship she had with her mother and father was like no other. They shared an unbreakable bond and spent as much time together as possible. Laura didn’t move out of her childhood home and often said “How could I ever leave a house that’s filled with so much love?!” Laura was a treasured baby sister from the beginning. Julia was her best friend and confidant. They were inseparable and even planned their futures together in great detail. Through the good times and the bad, they lived, laughed and loved. Laura is survived by her Father, Edward Joseph Gallant and her Mother Janine Marie Gallant, her sister Julia Marie Gallant and her loving grandparents in P. E. I., Faustin and Evelyn Gallant. She will be greatly missed by her many beloved aunts, uncles and cousins. Laura will be lovingly welcomed into the heavens by her grandparents Don and Marie Colquette, Uncle Kenny Gallant and Aunt Patti Colquette. Laura was selfless and always put others first. She was fun loving, outgoing and vivacious. She was an example to so many and a shining light to all who knew her. When you think of Laura, celebrate her legacy and the good memories you have with her. Think of her every time you see a rainbow, when you look at the moon and the sun, the stars in the sky, the sparkles in the water and the shimmers in the snow. Live like Laura. Love like Laura. Remember that life is for the living, it is fragile and short and the only moment we truly have is right now. Laura will be missed more than any words could express, with every fiber within us, but she will be forever in our hearts until we meet again because she is loving awareness.
We are circling.
Circling together.
Circling forever.
Laura’s celebration of life will be held in her family backyard in the coming months. We will keep everyone informed once the date is finalized for what will be an incredible ‘Festival of Laura’s Legacy’.
