Of Mount Forest passed away at Louise Marshall Hospital, Mount Forest, on Thursday, November 23, 2023, in his 91st year. Father of Neil Groves of Grimsby, England, Patricia Lyons of Fort Erie, Theresa Brennan of Barrie, Bernadette Flaherty of Mount Forest, and Corinne & Laurie Borlase of Lindsay. Grandfather of Ben and Luke Groves, Victoria and Danelle Lyon, Erin Brennan, Alysha and Ryan de Costa, Kyle and Jessica Borlase, and great-grandfather of Aiden Lyon, Lennon and Abbey, Ava Brennan, Logan de Costa, and Rudy Borlase. Survived by brothers Michael and Mary Flaherty, Danny and Vera Flaherty, and sisters Veronica O’Neil, Bridgie Ohmen, Ellen and Pat Roche, and Kathleen Conneely. Remembered also by Marie Eurig’s family, Randy and Heather Eurig of Mount Forest, and grandchildren Alyssa, Kelsey, Jason, and Shawn. Predeceased by his parents Festy and Mary (Connelly) Flaharty, his first wife Hilda (Byers) Flaherty, his second wife Marie Eurig, Marie’s daughter Patti Vanderaa, siblings Mary and Mark O’Malley, Joe Flaherty, Margaret and Christy Mc Donagh, James and Edna Flaherty, and Christy Flaherty, and by his brothers-in-law Marty O’Neil, Bob Ohmen, and Festus Conneely.
