EVANS, Colleen Ann (Faulkner); It is with profound sadness, we announce that Colleen Ann Evans (Faulkner) born March 7, 1945, completed her life’s journey on April 13, 2016. Colleen will forever be held close in the hearts of her husband Greg, and her children, Jason (Lina), Tiffany, Melissa (Ralph O’Callahan), Ryan (Samantha Griffiths) and her grandchildren Elise, Lauren, Natasha, Cian & Ciara. Colleen was predeceased by her parents Ross & Marjory Faulkner, and is the beloved sister of Ron (Anne-Marie) and Audrey Henderson (Tom). Loving aunt to 23 nieces and nephews. She became a Registered Nurse at Wellesley Hospital in Toronto; obtained her B.Sc in Nursing from Windsor University. This education led to a teaching career at Grace Hospital (Windsor), Georgian College (Orillia) and Laurentian University (Orillia). Colleen also spent 10 years in the Simcoe County Public Health System. Colleen was called to continue her life-long pursuit of knowledge and attended the University of Toronto-Regis College, where she obtained her Master of Divinity degree and enjoyed many rewarding years in Youth Ministry at Guardian Angels Church in Orillia and ten as a Pastoral Assistant and Spiritual Director at St. Mary’s Church in Barrie. A special thanks to the medical professionals for their care and compassion, in particular the Oncology and Palliative Care team at Royal Victoria Hospital, the Couchiching Family Health team and Hospice Simcoe. Colleen lived her life with an unwavering commitment to her faith, her family and her friends. Colleen will be remembered for her genuine smile, gentle spirit and kindness towards others. Her light will continue to shine brightly through her children and grandchildren.
