EURIG, Judith (Judy) Sharon (nee Colwill)

The family are saddened to announce her passing on Feb. 22, 2022 in Manabi, Ecuador, in her 79th year. Judy passed away peacefully in her sleep after enjoying another sun soaked day on the sand beach with a spectacular sunset over the Pacific Ocean. Left to mourn her passing; son, Larry of Mount Forest, ON, brother, Wayne and wife Donna Scott of Grand Bend, ON, two nieces, Rebecca (James), Esther (Brad), one nephew, Jeff (James), all of Kitchener/Waterloo, ON and her best friend Virginia Byers of Mount Forest, ON. Predeceased by her husband of 51 years; Boyd Eurig (2015), son, Craig Eurig (2005), parents, Helen Colwill (nee Walker) (1982)and Clifford Colwill (1999). Judy married Boyd in 1964,  moved to the farm as a town girl and quickly assumed the role of a farmer’s wife. Helping extensively on the family dairy farm, Judy and her husband raised a family and lived a good farm life through all that God and life dealt them. Due to Boyd’s illness from diabetes and his subsequent blindness, their bond and love for each other and their sons grew ever deeper. Judy was not only Boyd’s care giver; she was his eyes and source of mobility. Although many shunned them due to Boyd’s disability, they enjoyed their life together. Travelling many times to the Caribbean, South America and Europe. They also enjoyed many a night out and weekend away square dancing. Judy was a dedicated wife and mother and never placed herself ahead of her family. ‘The loss of her son and husband had a profound and life changing effect on her. When not looking after her family she enjoyed cooking and was second to none in the kitchen. Her love of flowers, her garden (especially her raspberries), sewing, needlework and knitting filled her spare time and all brought her much joy. Although Judy is gone, she is now in God’s care where she has rejoined Boyd and is rejoicing with him, the angels and her other family members. Judy is dearly missed, never to be forgotten and will always be loved! A private family service and committal was held at Greenfield Cemetery, Arthur, ON on May 17, 2022. A bbq and social followed at the farm afterwards. Donations in Judy’s memory to Sick Kid’s Hospital are graciously accepted. Arrangements entrusted to the Crawford Funeral Chapel, Arthur.
