ELLIS, Della Gladys (nee Whetham), of Hanover and formerly of Mount Forest, passed away at the Hanover and District Hospital on Monday, May 8th, 2017 in her 93rd year. Beloved wife of the late Russell Ellis (2001). Dear mother of Adell and her husband Jim Switzer of Hanover and Don Ellis and his friend Sharyon Smith of Ottawa. Cherished grandmother of Angie Switzer and her husband Brian Pelch of Laurel, Amy and her husband Chris Fischer of Lucan, Erin and her husband Ronnie Abou-Abssi of Ottawa, Cole Ellis of British Columbia and Dean Ellis of London, England. Great-grandmother of Dylan and Macy Fischer and Stella Abou-Abssi. Fondly remembered by her daughter-in-law Heather Ellis, her brother Mervin Whetham and his wife Valerie of Edmonton, her sister Yvonne and her husband Ron Weber of Normanby Township, her sister-in-law Lois Whetham of Minto Township, her brother-in-law of Ross MacDonald of Mount Forest, and her companion and friend George Ellis. Predeceased by her siblings Ruth and her late husband Gordon McQueen, Iva MacDonald, Lyle Whetham and his late wife Grace, Evelyn McCready and her late husband Clarence, Roxy and her late husband Jim Grills, and Jim Whetham, infant siblings Lloyd and Viola and a baby brother. Friends called at the England Funeral Home, Mount Forest on Thursday, May 11th from 1 – 1:45 p.m., where a celebration of Della’s life was held at 2 p.m. Interment at Mount Forest Cemetery.
