Of Drayton, passed away peacefully, in his 100th year, surrounded by the support and love of family, on Saturday, March 26, 2022. Beloved husband and life partner of the late Marie (Reed) Ellis (2018) for 74 married years. Loving father of Ron and Barb Ellis, Ray and Shirley Ellis, June and David Ebertt and Larry and Louise Ellis. Cherished Grandfather of Michael (Lara), Sherri (Brian); Deanne (Mike), Kirk (Teri), Mark (Erin); Shelley (Curtis), Shawn; Carly (Corey) and Kyle (Lindsay). Great Grandfather of MacKenzie, Benjamin, Brody, Drew, Ryder, Jett, Finn, Porter, Ernie, Katelyn, Cheylyn and Levy. Carl will be fondly remembered by his nieces, nephews and friends. Many in the community will remember Carl as a regular patron of the “Drayton Drift-Inn” surrounded by friends sharing a story and a morning coffee prior starting the day in one of the many roles he filled – garage owner, school bus operator, or volunteer firefighter. Carl was blessed with many friends through his long life who shared his passion for cars, a social evening and hard work. Carl and Marie enjoyed many weekends touring the rural areas of the province with the Gypsy campers and were always up for a few games of cards in the evening. It was not uncommon to find Carl and Marie at the local baseball diamond on a summer evening for a game and socializing with the fans – from both home and away teams! Carl was a stalwart member of the Drayton community, enjoyed getting to know anyone new and had an ability to make everyone feel welcomed. He will be dearly missed by friends and family.
