Elgie, William "Bill"; Sadly passed away on January 12th, at Caressant Care Nursing Home, in Fergus. Bill Elgie, formerly of Marsville, was 85. He joins his beloved and dearly missed wife, Marion (Wray) Elgie (1983). Dear father to Janet Elgie. Sadly and fondly remembered by his grandchildren Charlene (Brown) and her husband Rick Weber, Kincardine and Lisa (Brown) and her husband Mike Weishar, Walkerton. Cherished great-grandpa to Brooke and Dakota Weishar. Predeceased by his parents Norman & Jennie (Day) Elgie, his dear sister Mabel (Elgie) Reid and his three brothers-in-law Lloyd Reid, Donald Wray and Winston Wray. The family will receive their friends on Friday, January 15th, from 2-4pm and 7-9pm at Simes Funeral Home, 48 Main Street, Grand Valley (519-928-2933). The funeral service will be held at the funeral home chapel at 1pm on Saturday. Spring interment, Grand Valley Union Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, donations may be made in Bill’s memory to Groves Memorial Community Hospital or Caressant Care Nursing & Retirement Home (Fergus).
