Peacefully at the Louise Marshall Hospital on Saturday, August 17, 2024 in her 90th year. Beloved wife of the late Alvin Eccles (2018). Loving mother of Leslie Eccles and his wife Sheila of Conn, Patricia Eccles, Douglas Eccles, and Paul Eccles and his wife Carmen, all of Mount Forest. Proud grandmother of Stephanie, Ryan (Cara), Sandy, Nichole (Marc), Paula (Mark), Amanda (Paul), Connie (Rob), and Heidi (Travis) and great-grandmother of Peyton, Patricia, Johnathan, Johannah, Chloe, Serena, Taylor, Ava, Nash, Brynleigh, Hunter, and Sybil. Joan will be fondly remembered by Katy, Melissa, Jason, Amy and Dolly her extended family and many friends. She is predeceased by her parents George and Ethel (née Bye) Johnson, her brother Edward A. Johnson, and her grandson Cory Eccles. Joan was the secretary of the Mount Forest United Church for 33 years. She loved spending time at her trailer, camping and watching Nascar Racing, but above all, she loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and will forever be remembered as “GGma”. A Memorial Reception will be held at the Mount Forest United Church in the lower hall, 175 Queen Street East, Mount Forest on Saturday, September 28th from 1:00 – 4:00pm Private interment at the Mount Forest Cemetery.
