Drumm, Clarence “Sonny” Leo; 1922-2012. With heavy hearts and great sadness, the family of Clarence ”Sonny” Drumm announce his peaceful passing on June 3, 2012, at Hospice Wellington, Guelph. He will be remembered and deeply missed by his devoted partner Ina Schenk; Eunice; his children, Terry Wilson (Jerry), Michael, Larry (Marg), Dan (Wanda), Anna Marie Paul (Ted), Mary Rider (Dave McDermott) and Rodger (Carol); Ina’s daughter, Pat Coward (Rick); twenty grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. Sonny was born in Walkerton on December 12, 1922, to Lawrence and Anna Drumm and is predeceased by sister, Marie Schmidt (George) and brother, Norman (MaryLou). His sister, Doris “Dolly” Winter (Sam) also mourns his passing. Sonny was a WWII veteran and served overseas with the 6th Bomber Command and later with a disarmament unit in Germany. On his return to Canada, he began his tool and dye apprenticeship at Larsen and Shaw in Walkerton and then was employed for many years at Beatty Bros. in Fergus. He completed his working career as a machinist at Imperial Tobacco in Guelph. Sonny loved music and was a very active member of the Fergus Brass Band under the leadership of Art Lee. His passions were his pavilion and cottage at Oliphant, auction sales, gardening, conversations with friends and precious time spent with all of his extended family. There will be a visitation on Thursday, June 7th, 2012 from 4:00-8:00pm at the Graham A. Giddy Funeral Home & Chapel, 280 St. David St. South in Fergus, with the funeral service in the funeral home chapel on Friday, June 8th, 2012 at 11:00am. Cremation has taken place.
