1930 – 2024 Hugh Drew-Brook, 94 of Elora passed peacefully surrounded by family and friends on January 16, 2025. He was born June 10, 1930 to George and Mary Drew-Brook of Guelph. He met Wilma Thompson in 1951 and they were married for nine years with three children. After graduating from Ryerson College with a degree in electronics he established Fryston Associates which grew into a successful business. Hugh met Lorraine Jackson on a blind date not realizing she was blind! They married in 1971 and spent many precious decades together. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Lorraine and sisters Elizabeth Weihgand, Anne Drew-Brook and his mother and father. He is survived by his daughters Deborah Cormack, Carol Rotterman, son David Drew-Brook and grandson Andrew Rotterman plus many friends and special partner Menai Wardle. Hugh and Lorraine were always quick to volunteer for community projects such as the Grand Theatre, Gallery Music Club, in Fergus. In 2008 they established the Hughraine Fund with the KWCF charity which will continue supporting fifteen different organizations annually as a legacy. Hugh was known for his strong will and unwavering determination leading to note worthy achievements. He renovated the old Sam Whistler Grist mill in Elora into a beautiful home, built a house in New Zealand with Lorraine as a winter home. Menai was a treasure in Hugh’s life as they traveled the world together. The family would like to thank Menai’s son Gareth and wife Janet for all the help and support they gave Hugh in his final days. A private family service will be held at the internment of the ashes at the Elora municipal cemetery.
