It is with shock and sadness that we announce that Benny diZitti passed away on Sunday June 23rd from a stroke. His smile and kindness will be greatly missed by his friends and family in Canada and in Italy. He is survived by his sister Elly, his sister Pat and her husband Michelle, his brother Mauro and his wife Pina and his many nieces and nephews. He leaves behind his sons and daughters- in-law, Mitch and Rhonda and Steve and Cathy. He will be greatly missed by his 4 grandchildren: Joshua, Jordan, Michael and David. A private funeral was held in Elora on Tuesday June 25th where he was laid to rest next to the love of his live, his wife of many years, Rhoda. Benny was an architect, a supporter of the arts, a leader in the slow food movement and a wonderful friend, brother, father and grandfather who enjoyed a good story over wine. A celebration of life will be held later this year to honour a man who had an enduring impact on so many people. Thank you to Wellington Hospice for making his last days so peaceful and comfortable. Donations can be made to the Cedarcliff Fund for Arts and Culture through the Center Wellington Community Foundation for the Arts in Elora by contacting https://www.canadahelps.org/en/dn/5305. Arrangements entrusted to the Wall-Custance Funeral Home & Chapel.
