After a long life well lived, in Arthur, Roy passed away peacefully with loved ones at his side at Mariposa House Hospice in Orillia on Thursday, April 22, 2021 in his 94th year. After a 2 month illness and a long battle of missing his beloved wife of 63 years, the late Elois (Lolly) Givens (predeceased in 2008). He will be forever missed by his 4 children, Glenn Dixon (Peggy), Ken Dixon (Edna), Jane Dixon-Barlow (Bob) and Rob Dixon (Carolyn). Much loved Grandfather of 7 grandchildren – Shelley Divall (Mark), Brad Dixon (Kelli), Brian Dixon, Jeffrey Dixon (Sherry), Jeremy Zulauf (Katia), Lisa White-Haight and Ashley Dixon. Great Grandfather of 9 great grandchildren – Josh Divall, Makenzie Dixon and Taylor Dixon, Tamara Dixon, Xavier and Julian Zulauf, Victoria Haight, Coralee Haight and Alise White. Great-Great Grandfather of William Henlee Haight and Rowen Divall. Fondly remembered by his many nieces, nephews and friends. Predeceased by his beloved parents Walter and Emma Jane Dixon. Surviving all other siblings Roy was the 7th of eight children and was predeceased by sisters, Eileen Little, Leone Carroll-Kerr, Audrey Foster, Denelda Green, Shirlie Kelly, Doris Jamieson and brother, Merlin Dixon. The family received friends at the Crawford Funeral Chapel, 243 George Street, Arthur on Tuesday, April 27, 2021. A private family service was held in the Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday following the visitation, a link to watch Roy’s service will be available below his notice at www.heritagefuneralhomes.ca. As expressions of sympathy in lieu of flowers donations to the Arthur St. Andrews Presbyterian Church or Mariposa House Hospice in Orillia would be appreciated by the family. The family wishes to thank all the medical care givers at Groves Memorial Hospital, St. Joseph’s Complex Care, Apple Blossom Lane, and especially the excellent care and compassion he received at Mariposa House Hospice in Orillia.
