DIETRICH, Joan – of RR2 Moorefield, passed away at her residence on Tuesday June 27, 2017 at the age of 73. Beloved wife of Clare Dietrich whom she married in 1965. Dear mother of Tammy Vandenberg and her husband Kenny, Tracy Oelschlagel and her husband Robert, Tawnya Helmka and her husband Ken, and Robert Dietrich. Cherished grandma of Jessica Oelschlagel (Darcy Thring), Jennifer Oelschlagel (Andrew Hamilton), Nicole Oelschlagel, Trevor Vandenberg (fiancé Natasha Vallance), Michelle Vandenberg, Ryan Helmka, Brandon Helmka and Kyle Helmka and great- grandmother of Hunter Thring. Sister of Karen Thompson, Shirley Dick, Ronald Dick, Barbara Sampson, Sharon and Gary Thackeray, Dorothy Dick, Deborah and Randy Young, Carol Dick, John and Shelley Dick and sister-in-law of Marion Dick. Predeceased by her parents John Alexander Dick (1964) and Helen Marie (Lambier) Dick (1996), brothers Kenneth, John Maurice and Jim, sister Donna Dick. Sister-in-law of Wayne Dietrich and Barb Grigat, Marlene White and Lorne Haggerman, Bud Dietrich and Diane Hinchberger, Linda and Doug Mayberry, Sharon and Paul Lynch, Larry and Susan Dietrich. Predeceased by her father and mother-in-law Edwin John Dietrich (1991) and Margaret Loretta (Scott) Dietrich (2000), brother and sister-in-law Dorothy and Donald Helmka. Fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews. In keeping with Joan’s wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation. A private family memorial service will be held at a later date. As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations to the Palmerston and District Hospital Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
