Passed away peacefully at Guelph General Hospital on Friday, May 3rd, surrounded by the love of his family. He was in his 87th year. Donald will be dearly missed by his beloved wife of 50 years, Ruby. Loving father of Rod (Beth), and proud grandpa of Liam, Maddox, Savannah and Landan. He is survived by his sister Karen (Tom) and his brother Gary. He will be forever remembered by his nieces, nephews and many friends. Visitation will be held on Friday, May 10th at the Graham A. Giddy Funeral Home, 280 St. David Street South in Fergus from 5-8pm. A funeral service will take place on Saturday, May 11th at 1:30pm in the funeral home chapel, followed by interment at the Elora Municipal Cemetery. Following the interment, guests are invited back to the funeral home for a time of fellowship and refreshments upstairs in the Wellington Room. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Donald may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada, Diabetes Canada, the Alzheimer Society, or to the Groves Memorial Hospital Foundation and are greatly appreciated by his family.
