DETTMAN, Leroy Levi

Of Clifford passed away peacefully at Royal Terrace, Palmerston, on Wednesday, October 19, 2022, in his 89th year. Husband of the late Bonnie (Stillar) Dettman. Dad to Vance & Julie Dettman of Clifford, Tracey & Ron deBoer of Wroxeter, Regan & Judy Dettman of Clifford, Jacquelyn & Derek Detzler of Mildmay, and Stephanie & Steve Carter of Kitchener. Grandpa/Poppa of Tara & Mike Taberer, Jocelyn & Dave Tomek, Angela & Ryan Tupper, Mitchell & Miranda deBoer, Tyson deBoer & Ray Carino, Brody & Brittany Dettman, Jessica & Alex Martin, Taylor & Aaron Keunen, Maddie Detzler, Tanner Pridham, and Braxton, Chase, Logan, and Paige Carter, and G-Poppa of Nolan, Evangeline, Oliver, Jaxson, Judah, Hunter, Clark, Brooklynn, Rachel, Jade, Ryder, Calla, Cooper, Layla. Brother of Ken Dettman of Clifford, and brother-in-law of Bev & Barry Reed of London, Deborah & Calvin Matheson of Listowel, and Rhonda & Reid Wilson of Moorefield. Predeceased by his parents Albert & Caroline (Dietz) Dettman, his infant son Mitchell Eric, and his sisters Edna & Herb Miller, Doris & Harvey Wagner, and Doreen & Ralph Schaeffer and by his sister-in-law Evelyn Dettman. Leroy farmed for many years in Howick Township. He was a strong, hardworking, kind and gentle man who loved the Lord, his family and friends very much. He touched many hearts. A special thank you to the staff of Royal Terrace. Their care, love and support went above and beyond what could ever be imagined. They will forever hold a place in the hearts of Leroy’s family. Visitation was held at the Hardy-Lee Funeral Home, Harriston on Sunday from 1:00 to 4:00pm. A private family interment was held at Clifford Cemetery on Monday, October 24, 2022 at 9:45am, followed by a Celebration of Leroy’s life at the Clifford Community Hall at 11:00am, with reception followed.
