Obituary

Of Elora, Ontario passed away unexpectedly on July 31st, 2023 at the age of 60. Les was born on May 9th, 1963 in Dublin, Ireland to parents Louis and Margaret. He was the eldest of 5 brothers; Edward, John, Justin and Graham. He leaves behind his wife of thirty years, Carolyn Peto and his children Nicole and Gavin, whom he loved to talk and brag about. Les immigrated to Canada in his twenties to apprentice under his uncle. From there, Leslie grew to become a Master stone mason for over thirty years and operated his own company, Coalmar Ltd. He had a particular passion for the restoration of historic buildings and stonework. Leslie lived in both Etobicoke and Mississauga after getting married and moved to Elora upon his semi-retirement 3 years ago. He enjoyed fishing, golf, darts and engaging in good conversation. He loved watching nature shows and loved to travel, with his most recent trips being to Europe and Alaska. He’ll be missed by his many friends and family in both Ireland and Canada. A celebration of life will be held on September 23rd at 1pm at our family cottage at Belwood Lake, a place Leslie loved. Located at 724 Seventh Street, Belwood Lake.
