Cumming, George Wallace; Veteran of World War II with Squadron #418 Canadian Air Force. Dear husband of the late Bernice (nee: Cutler) 1990. Much respected and loved father of Doreen (1990) and her husband Art Weis, Larry and his wife Nancy, Joyce and her husband Dave Jeffreys and Brian. Devoted grandpa to Tony (Jenn), Tim (Howaida) and Joanna Weis, Joel (Tammy) Cumming, Brian Scroggins (friend Mandy), Emma, Alec and Louise Cumming; and great grandpa to Marley and Keray Weis, Essiyah, Ibraheem, and Mousa Weis, Elle and Jack Cumming. Loved and admired by sisters Alberta Auger (Harold) and Margaret Bolender (Lorne). Survived by sister-in-law Helen Paisley and son-in-law Art Weis and friend Dianne. Survived by a number of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other family and friends in Elora, Guelph, and California. Predeceased by brothers-in-law Harold Auger and Lorne Bolender, sister Ethel (Len) and parents Ellie Miller and Robert Cumming. Wallace was an honorary life time member of the Elora Curling Club, life long member of R.C.L. Br#229 Elora, avid supporter of minor sports, volunteer driver for the Canadian Cancer Society, Elora Councillor during the early seventies, and above all Wallace loved and was devoted to his family and his community. Family will receive friends at the Graham A. Giddy Funeral Home, 37 Church St. Elora, on Friday, April 3, 2009 from 3-5pm and 7-9pm. Memorial Service will be celebrated on Saturday, April 4, 2009 at 11am. at Elora United Church, Geddes St. Elora. Donations can be made to the Township of Mapleton.
