It is with heavy hearts that the family of Doreen Cormier announce her death on Thanksgiving Monday October 14, 2019, at Guelph General Hospital. Doreen passed away peacefully with family by her side at the age of 88 years old. Doreen was born in Toronto July 24, 1931 to the late Monica (1973) (nee Brown) and Harry Bourne (1963). She was a beloved sister to many siblings and spent her career as a Registered Nurse’s Assistant at Toronto Western Hospital. Doreen was a woman of faith and had a strong sense of determination and social justice. She was known for her generosity and loved her family well. Doreen enjoyed knitting, traveling the world and spending time with her family. She is predeceased by her husband Aubrey Cormier (2002) after 51 years of marriage. Her legacy lives on through her four children Marie Cormier, late son David Cormier (Suzanne), Margaret Brace (David), and Catherine Lazaric (Anthony). Doreen was beloved Nanny to eight grandchildren Alan (Rhonda), Jessica (Matthew), Jason (Stephanie), Tricia, Matthew (Latitia), Laurie (Stephen), Anthony, and Eric; and thirteen great-grand children Rachel, Alan James, David, Carter, Hanna, Evangeline, Ellieana, Reanna, Adelaide, Kianna, Miriam, Simone, and Georgia. Doreen’s life will be celebrated by a private service for her immediate family.
