COOK-MARTIN, Sybil (nee Gilgrass); November 7, 1929 – October 14, 2014. Passed away peacefully with family at her side on Tuesday, October 14, 2014 at the Georgetown Hospital after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Loving daughter of George Gilgrass and Ada Wardle (deceased) of Runcorn, Cheshire, England. Loving wife of Norman Martin, (formerly of Inglewood), married June 1999, predeceased by Alfred Henry Cook (married 1952-1996). Loving mother of Nigel and Nancy Cook and their children Kyal and Lyndsay of Toronto, Brent and Kevin of Orangeville also Ian and Leslie Cook and their children Michael and Joey of Hillsburgh and her great-grandchild Chase Anderson Cook. Sadly missed by her extended family; son-in-law John Martin, Peter and Lynda Noel and their children David, Alicia, Adam, Amber and Skylar Schmit of Thunder Bay, Jessi and great-grandchildren Braiden and Lexi. Remembered by her sisters; Marion and Elsie (deceased), Sheila and Yvonne and their family of Runcorn, Cheshire, England. Sybil was a teletype operator in the Royal Signal Corps and later a book keeper for several companies including Union Gas and National Grocers and in retirement an active member of Caledon Seniors Council in Caledon East. Friends were received at the J.S. Jones & Son Funeral Home 11582 Trafalgar Rd., Georgetown, 905-877-3631 on Thursday from 2-4 & 7-9 pm. Funeral service was held in the chapel on Friday, October 17, 2014 at 11:00 am. Reception followed in the Trafalgar Room. Interment Boston Mills Cemetery.
