In Loving memory of Mrs. Jean Anne Conner, who took her last breath on this earth one year ago, on December 3, 2020, at her home in Fergus, Ontario, surrounded by loved ones. Jean is loved and treasured forever by her very good friend Shawn Bursey, of St. John’s NFLD. She will always be remembered and loved by her P.S.W.’s, Paloma and Kim, as well as the many other support staff that had the pleasure to know her. Jean was a caring, loving woman with a sharp and witty sense of humour. She spent the early years of her life travelling with her family and exploring the world. An avid reader, Jean was a regular at the Fergus Public Library, reading 5-7 novels a week. Jean taught high school english in Thunder Bay, where she met her late husband Edward “Ted” Hawkins (2017). She had many warm and fond memories of her time with Ted up in Thunder Bay. Their love was strong and Ted was a devoted and loving husband to Jean until a complication from hip surgery took him. Though Jean’s health was not perfect, she ran a tight ship from her command post, and enjoyed the many visits from her favorite PSW’s and friends. Jean loved to converse and enjoyed hearing the stories her friends shared about their families and past experiences, and could often be heard roaring with laughter. She was a very generous woman, contributing to many charities throughout her life. Cremation has taken place and Jean will be inurned in Fergus cemetery alongside her mother and father. Jean, we love you and miss you dearly. We should have written a book. Love, Paloma, Jared, Jason, Violet, Connor, Lily, Emma and Aiden.
