COLIN, Marie-Louise Elisabeth (Malou)

COLIN, Marie-Louise Elisabeth; Marie-Louise Elisabeth Colin (Malou), 91, of Rosieres en Haye, France, died peacefully Sunday, December 28, 2014, in Hernando, Florida, surrounded by family. Born October 12, 1923 in Vaudesincourt, France, she married Jean Albert Colin. The couple had two daughters, Françoise (Ron Densmore) who settled in Canada and Danièle (Francis Savaroche) who passed away in 1993. Cherished Nanny of Cyril (Etsu), Virginia (Brent), Lloyd (Jill), Damien (Betty), Jeffrey, Jodie (Andrew), and of great-grandchildren Thomas, Brady, Madeleine, Kai, Emma, Alexandra, Zen, Coline and Claira. Predeceased by her parents Fernand and Juliette Risse, and brother Jean Risse. She will be sadly missed by many friends in France, Canada and Florida. Accomplished Seamstress, and dedicated Red Cross First-aider during WWII, she would cross enemy lines on her bicycle with great courage despite the constant bombardments, taking shelter in church cellars, always completing the call or job at hand, she was well liked and known around Toul, Rosieres and the surrounding villages, as a great lady. She loved her Lord, and her favorite Saint Antoine. “Nanny” loved life and would fly yearly to Canada to stay with her family, to Dordogne, and to Florida. Maman, the Lord took you away from us unexpectedly, His hand leading you gently to a life eternal where we will delight in being reunited with you some day. “Nous t’aimerons toujours.” Internment will take place at a later date in the spring.
