CARSON, Margaret A. (nee Wearring)

January 23, 1931 - January 22, 2022

Passed away peacefully with her family at her side on Saturday January 22, 2022. She was born in Wroxeter, Ontario to Mary and Alwrid Wearring on January 23, 1931. She celebrated a wonderful life of 91 years. She was predeceased by her husband Norman in 1987. They had two children, Susan (Steve) McManus and Peggy (Maurice- [deceased] Irvine). She had five grandchildren, Meagan (Michael)Troop, Matthew (Jenna) Irvine, Christopher (Marissa) Hale, Carson (Dani) Hale and Duncan McManus. She has five great grandchildren: Norman Troop, Maren Troop, and Marshall Irvine in Canada; Xavier Hale and Chloe Hale living in Florida. She had one sister, Agnes Livingstone (deceased) and is survived by her brother- in-law David Livingstone. She spent many family holidays together with her brother-in-law and sister-in-law; Reta and Dick Carson’s (both deceased) families. She graduated high school from Listowel High School and attended teachers’ college in Toronto. She became a kindergarten teacher at Listowel Public Schools. She was in the choirs during her high school academic years and played piano and organ with her music teacher, Mr. Willits. Her love of music helped her to be a good teacher, and that carried on throughout the rest of her family life as well. She was happily married for 32 years to Norman Carson until he passed away on February 12, 1987. They lived in Gorrie where Norman started his company, Danor, that later became Canarm and they moved to Brockville in 1969. Marg played voluntarily in the Music Festivals for many students and always helped with high school and elementary musicals when needed to accompany students, sharing her knowledge and passion. Her love of music was what Marg was known best for to her family and friends. She could sit down at the piano and play literally anything someone wanted, brightening many family celebrations as well as serving others with her music in her church and community work. Marg’s favourite song was “Love in the Home”. She felt that you should always keep a song in your heart and love in your home. She loved her music as it was “what feelings sound like”. She and Norman welcomed many people into their home and shared their lives generously with family and friends. Marg was always thinking of others and made a point to put her family first. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend to so many. Her grandchildren describe her as “loving, caring, generous, most amazing, inspiring, influential, nurturing, devoted, thoughtful, patient, good all around, humorous”. She left an impact on many friends but above all, was a dedicated, supportive loving wife and mother. She always put her family at the centre of her life. In lieu of flowers please make contributions in memory of Marg Carson to the charities of her choice: The ALS Society in Kingston through the Memories of Maurice Irvine fundraising link: https://secure.alsevents.ca/registrant/FundraisingPage.aspx?RegistrationID=5037449#&panel1-2 or the Palliative Care Program at the Brockville and District Hospital Foundation: https://bdhfoundation.com/palliative-care.php.
