(1949-2023) Julia Cardone, of Toronto ON, passed away on April 13, 2023, after a short battle with cancer. She leaves behind her loving husband of 47 years, Miron Berezowsky and their son Alexander (Kate). Julia was predeceased by her parents Jim and Clara Cardone of Mount Forest, and her sister Rosemary West. Mourning her loss are her sisters Pauline Helferty, Marianne Williams, their families, and many friends. Julia attended St. Mary’s Elementary School and graduated from Mount Forest District High School. She received her Honours B.A. in History from the University of Guelph, Master of Arts (Bowling Green, Ohio), Master of Science (Guelph) and Bachelor of Education (Univ. of Toronto). Julia went on to pursue a lifelong career in Education. She taught various subjects and was a Guidance Counselor with the Toronto Board and the University of Toronto Schools. She also worked in Kitchener, Oshawa, St. Catherine’s, Trinidad, St. Lucia, and Bologna, Italy. She was dedicated to her students, many with whom she kept in touch. Julia loved reading, gardening, photography, baking, theatre, cats, and movies but her greatest passion was travel. Just before Julia was diagnosed, she was able to enjoy a trip with her husband Miron, to Malta, England, and Austria. Julia was a dedicated mother who derived great pleasure in offering her dear son Alexander many educational opportunities and enrichment through the Arts and travel. Julia will be dearly missed and will remain forever in our hearts.
