Cameron, Gordon Robert

Cameron, Gordon Robert; Passed away peacefully at the Wellington Terrace Home for the Aged on Sunday, November 9th, 2008 with his family by his side. Gord Cameron of Elora in his 93rd year. Beloved husband of Beatrice Cameron (nee Willard) for 61 years. Loving father of Ken (Pat) of Pike Lake, Ron (Mary) of Elora and Bob (Lynn) of Elora. Loved grandfather of Greg (Paula) of Kamloops, B.C., Michael (Daisy) of Singapore, Michelle of Regina, Sask, Adam of Toronto, Jeromy of Toronto, Brad (Vanessa) of Toronto, Scott of London and Kevin of Windsor and great grandfather of Olivia and Alyssa. Survived by brothers Don (Joan) and Cliff (Hazel) all of Guelph. Pre-deceased by his parents George and Elizabeth Cameron and brothers Bert, Jack and infant brother. Special thank you to Dr. Simpson and the staff of the Wellington Terrace. Gord was born and raised in Elora and participated in life in so many ways, he was involved in the Cameron Careful Cartage in Elora, school custodian in both the Elora Public and Elora High School for many years, volunteered with the Elora Fire Dept, loved lawn bowling, drove a school bus and has many fond memories of teachers and students from the school, especially the “Alma Gang”. The family received their friends at the GRAHAM A. GIDDY FUNERAL HOME AND CHAPEL, 37 CHURCH STREET, ELORA, on Wednesday, November 12 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm.  A complete service was held in the chapel on Thursday, November 13 at 2pm. Burial of the cremated remains will take place at a later date at the Elora Cemetery. Rev Kees Vandermey officiating at the service. Remembrances to the Groves Foundation C.T. Scan or Wellington Terrace resident day out, would be appreciated.
