BUTLER, Elizabeth Ann (nee Bergin); Elizabeth (Betty), 82 of Toronto, ON died peacefully surrounded by her beloved husband Jack (John J. Butler Sr.) and her 4 children and family present on October 10, 2015 at the Mississauga Trillium Hospital in Mississauga, ON. Born October 15, 1933 Betty, daughter of William J. Bergin and May H. Yeaman (both deceased) was married to Jack 60 years and raised four children David (Lise) Butler, Carol (Luke) Perron, John J Butler Jr. (Deborah) Butler, and Marion Butler. Betty was a mother, homemaker and joined her husband, Jack, in the ownership and training of many Thoroughbred horses (Grecian Earn, Cough Drops) that raced at numerous track events (Woodbine, Greenwood, Thorncliffe, Dufferin Park). She loved reading, Frank Sinatra’s music and visiting the thoroughbred racetrack every day until this last year before her passing. Survivors include her husband John J. Butler, her 4 children, 15 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and brother Robert (Madeleine) Bergin. A gathering in celebration of Betty’s life will be held November 21, 2015 (12 – 4pm) at Hugh Foster Hall, 141 King St. Milton, ON. A private family interment will follow at a later date in Mildmay, ON. at the Sacred Heart Cemetery. Memorial donations to a local charity of your choice would be sincerely appreciated.
