Bulmer, Lloyd George; 1916-2013 in his 98th year, went to be with his Lord peacefully on April 30, 2013 at his home at Heritage River. Formerly of Acton and Fergus, he was the beloved husband of the late Helen Bulmer (1994). Dearly beloved father of Jean (John) Rebellati of Ariss, Nancy (Howard) Coneybeare of Fergus, and Scott (Laura) Bulmer of Thunder Bay. Lovingly remembered by 3 grandchildren; Denver (Meaghan) Coneybeare, Dawson Coneybeare, and Ashleigh Burns. He will be sadly missed by his dear sister Jackie Martin of Toronto. Predeceased by parents Wm. John and Ellen Bulmer, and sisters Stella, Audris, and Eva. Lloyd was proud to be a Canadian veteran of World War II. During 1942-1946 he was an army Sergeant stationed on Cape Breton Island Nova Scotia and deployed overseas during the war. He worked at Harris Exnon Company in Rockwood engineering gear boxes for Maple Leaf agricultural equipment. Lloyd was owner of Acton Autobody (1948-1963) and Elora Collision (1966) following which he was an agent for Landmark Real Estate and an automobile salesman for Reliable Motors in Fergus until retirement in 1975. As a resourceful machinist Lloyd enjoyed designing and building steam engines and many other inventions. He was adept at repairing bicycles and lawn mowers and helping others generously with his mechanical finesse. Lloyd was an active member of the Acton Baptist Church (1950-1967) serving as an indomitable fund raiser and Sunday School Superintendent. He was a challenging opponent at pool, chess and checkers, excellent at problem solving and master of the Rubik’s Cube even while blindfolded. He will be remembered as a friendly and genuine gentleman with a reputation as a businessman of integrity. A visitation was held at the Graham A. Giddy Funeral Home, 280 St. David Street South, Fergus on Saturday, May 4th, 2013 from 10:00 – 11:15 am. A Legion service was held at 10:00 am. A Funeral Service was held in the chapel at 11:30 am.
