Boyd, Edward John – It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dad, Ed, age 83, on Sunday May 18, 2014, with Jean and his children by his side. Predeceased by his loving wife of 52 years, Lillian (nee Crawford). Loving father of Don and Laurie of Fergus, Glenna and Blake of Waterdown, Larry and Iona of Hamilton and Deborah of Dundas.  Proud and loving grandpa of Crystal and Jai, April and Matt, Nikole and Scott, Mackenzie, Riley, Jordan, Tyler, Casadi and Helaina.  Proud and loving great-grandpa of Clayton, Hannah, Gage, Owen, Colton and River.  Loving and cherished companion to Jean Cushing.  Ed was embraced as a member of the Cushing family.  We would like to thank Marilyn and Keith, Donna and John, Mike, Sandra and Rob and Jean’s grandchildren so very much for their love and kindness.   Survived by friend and brother Allan and Betty, sister Margaret and sister-in-law Anne.   Predeceased by parents Allan and Grace (nee Green), older brother Roy, brother-in-law Don, baby daughter Mary Ellen and great-grand baby Nora.  Retired in 1999 from Groves Memorial Hospital, Ed held the position of millwright for many years.  Known and loved by many, he lived as a hardworking, reliable, compassionate man who enjoyed work as much as travel and socializing.  He believed that his relationships with family and friends were his greatest assets. Ed will always be remembered for his constant thought of others, his willingness to participate in both work and fun, his kind, gentle nature, and for his smile.  He will be greatly and forever missed.
