BOOI, Harm; Passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Friday, December 26th, 2014 in his 90th year, at Headwaters Health Care Centre, Orangeville. Beloved husband of Clara (nee Bakker) Booi for 61 years. Loving father of Tina Vanderveen (Marty), Betty, Gerald (Joanne), Maria Berdusco (David), Hetti Stobie (Stephen) and Rick (Lauren). Dear loving grandfather of Melissa Tamming (Kevin), Jessica Vanderveen-Willetts (Ryan), Doug Booi (Kim), Cliff Booi, Sheena Scheurwater (Jeremy), Elaine Booi, Andrea Berdusco, David Stobie, Andrew Stobie, Ben Booi and Breanna Booi. Dear great grandfather (Opa) of Eli and Levi Tamming, Brody Willetts & Brooklyn and Corbin Scheurwater. Dear brother of Henk Pierik of The Netherlands. Harm was born in Genemuiden, The Netherlands on September 10th, 1925 and immigrated to Canada in 1953. He will be remembered as a loving father, a steadfast friend, and a good neighbour. He cherished his farm and garden. Visitation was held at the Dods & McNair Funeral Home & Chapel, 21 First Street, Orangeville on Tuesday, December 30 from 3-5 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service was held at Orangeville Christian Reformed Church, 50 Blind Line, Orangeville on Wednesday, December 31st, 2014 at 11 a.m. Memorial donations to provide bibles may be made to The Gideons International in Canada. A tree will be planted in memory of Harm in the Dods & McNair Memorial Forest at the Island Lake Conservation Area, Orangeville.
