On Saturday, April 16th, 2022, Marlene Binkle, 86 years of age, passed away at St. Joseph’s Health Care Centre. She was predeceased by her husband Harold Binkle. Mom put up a valiant fight against several chronic health conditions and was the strongest woman we knew until her health condition got in the way. Marlene was a proud mother (Lynne, Kim, Greg, Rick, and Steven), mother-in-law (Geoff, Cathy, Janet, Jamie), grandmother (Alexandra/Michael, Darcy, Taylor/Madison, Seth, Jake/Stephanie, Max, Sam, Zachary, Kalub), great grandmother (Kennedy, Boston, Sophia, Charlotte). She was a fierce defender of all her family and enormously proud of each. She immersed herself in all of our life experiences. She instilled many strong values that continue to serve her family well. Beyond the joys of her family, she worked full time and retired from Zehrs markets when she was 60. She enjoyed retirement and spent a great deal of it at Pike Lake near her hometown of Clifford. All who loved her dearly, will never forget her tenacity, her sassy and sometimes interesting use of words, her strength, her kindness, her independence and her love for family and friends. We love you mom and will miss you. Be at peace…we’ve got this. Pets enriched mom’s life and she would have been honoured to have donations made to a Humane Society of your choice. A celebration on Marlene’s life will be held at the Wall-Custance Funeral Home & Chapel, 206 Norfolk St., Guelph on Friday, April 22, 2022 at 10:30am. Reception to follow. Guests may also attend remotely via Zoom using the link in Marlene’s notice on the funeral home website: www.wallcustance.com. A tree will be planted in memory of Marlene M. Binkle in the Wall-Custance Memorial Forest.
