Jitske ‘Theresa’ Beute (Ellens-Moesker), surrounded by her children, was called to her eternal home and welcomed by the Saviour she so loved on Monday, February 27, 2023 in her 87th year. Predeceased by Jake Beute, her husband of 28 years, and Mark Moesker, her husband of 17 years. She will be lovingly remembered by her sons Robert (Thelma) of Milford Bay, Alan (Pam) of Waterloo, and Kenneth (Angela) of Rocky Mountain House, AB. She will be missed by her grandchildren, Lauren (Bobby) White, Philip (Angela), Dylan, Katherine, Timothy, Joshua (Miranda), Sarah, Isaac, and Hannah (Jared) Hystad, her 10 great-grandchildren, and by her sisters Trudy Brouwer, Joan (Pete) Kapteyn, and Agnes (Cor) Kamerman. Predeceased by her parents Elle and Tjitske (VanKalsbeek) Ellens, her brothers Pieter, Gordon, and Auke, her sisters Eke, Alice and Frances, and by their spouses. Theresa was a very active person who would be seen regularly by many walking or riding her bicycle around Palmerston, often picking up litter along the way and placing it where it belonged because she wanted her town to be tidy and welcoming for others, just like her home. She had a green thumb and it would not be unusual to see her tending gardens at not just her own home, but her neighbours as well, and for many years the gardens at her church. She loved her quiet life and was most content in her home spending many hours knitting little dolls, which numbered in the hundreds that she donated to the Operation Christmas Child ministries. She had a quiet but strong faith in her Lord and would be found on Tuesday at her church’s Coffee Break Bible study. And without fail, Sundays were spent with the people she loved, and who loved her, at the Palmerston Christian Reformed Church. Special thanks to the Doctors and staff at the Palmerston Hospital who cared for mom so well in her final weeks. Visitation was held at the Hardy-Lee Funeral Home, Harriston, on Thursday, March 2nd from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00pm. The funeral service was held at Palmerston Christian Reformed Church on Friday, March 3rd at 11:00am, with Rev. Ken Labbe officiating. Family interment in Palmerston Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Palmerston Hospital or the Palmerston Christian Reformed Church would be appreciated and can be made directly through the Hardy-Lee Funeral Home (519-338-2441) or www.hardyleefuneralhome.com
