Obituary

He left us on January 5, 2024. Born on July 6, 1943, in Stupava-Mást in Slovakia. In November 1968 he came to Canada as a refugee. Soon after he arrived in Canada, he worked hard to contribute and to provide for his family. His last employers were CGE, Westinghouse, then ABB from where he retired after 32 years. He was known as reliable and hardworking, active, and passionate as an amateur athlete and dancer and was well-liked in his neighbourhood. When his eyesight deteriorated and he lost sight in one eye after numerous operations, he adapted to maintain his love of being outdoors, cycling and walking daily.  He had the mental and physical strength and courage to overcome the pitfalls of life. He is survived by his wife, Agnes, son Ondrej (partner Leah and grandchildren Luka, Malin and Esa) and daughter Miriam (husband Patrick and grandchildren Anika and Maëlle). Also, by his relatives in Slovakia. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Sts. Cyril & Methodius Parish, 5255 Thornwood Drive, Mississauga L4Z 3J3.
