BELLEHUMEUR, Roger

BELLEHUMEUR, Roger, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, April 16, 2016. He will be greatly missed by his cherished wife and best friend Penny. They were together for thirty years. His children Mike, Corey and Nikki love him dearly, and will miss him terribly.Roger was larger than life. He was from a big family whose legacy and lore can still be found in the small townships around Temiskaming, Quebec. He was a self-taught and self-made man. Roger had many facets to his life. He began and ended his career in hairdressing and was an award winning hair stylist and recognized industry wide for training the next generation of stylists. In between, he and Penny created a successful insulation company called Ropen Insulation.  Roger was also active with house building. Roger was courageous, and vigorously took on new challenges. However, with Roger, it was never about his job. That was just a means to enjoy life. In the last 15 years Roger and Penny have loved living in Fergus especially in their home with naughty dog Satchmo, their friends, their family and the occasional drink in the pub. Roger had a huge heart, and he loved people. He has left many family members and friends with shared memories who will carry on his larger-than-life spirit. You are invited to attend a celebration of Roger’s life to mark his passing, and to share stories. This will be at the Fergus Curling Club, 148 St. George St. W., Fergus, Ontario, on Saturday, April 23, at 2pm. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Centre Wellington Food Bank in Fergus.
