1929 – 2024 Passed away peacefully in the early morning of February 6th at Guelph General Hospital in her 94th year. Beloved and cherished wife of Ehin Ariss for over 70 years. During the last years of Betty’s life Ehin has tirelessly and lovingly devoted his time to caring for her. He has been left with only a broken heart and memories. Elizabeth attended Wrigleys Public School and entered Galt Collegiate Institute at the age of 12. She graduated at the age of 16 and entered the workforce full-time. Until retirement Betty worked as an accountant at Fiberglass Canada. Betty lived on a century country farm where she was able to hone her passion for gardening with a never ending desire to cultivate new species. Betty leaves behind brother James “Jim” (Vera). Betty was also sister-in-law to Beryl Hannaberg (Wally). Betty will always be remembered by many nieces and nephews and special friends Orval and Kathleen Gates. Predeceased by parents William (Bill) and Francis Morton (nee Miller), by brother George (Pete) Morton, sister-in-law Glenda Morton (nee Jarvis) brothers-in-law Len Ariss (Irene) and Vern Ariss (Kathleen) and by numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Ehin wishes to express his thanks and gratitude to all the caregivers at Guelph General Hospital. As wished, there will be no funeral. In memory of Elizabeth, donations to Hospice Wellington would be appreciated.
