ABATE, Angela (nee Bono), of Arthur passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of her family at the Groves Memorial Hospital, Fergus on Thursday, March 9, 2017 in her 79th year. Beloved wife of Antonio Abate for 59 years. Cherished mother of Masina and Chet Decker of Drayton, Sab and Brenda Abate of Arthur and Sal and Jackie Abate of Mount Forest. Dear grandmother of Joshua Decker, Danielle and Cody Stolz; Stacey and Brandon Vandergaast, Anthony Abate; Nathan McColl-Abate, Jacob McColl-Abate, Masina McColl-Abate. Great grandmother of Nathaniel, Lexi and Holly. Sister of Maria and Luciano Rossi and Donatella and Cesare all of Italy, sister-in-law of Tina Bono of Italy, Fulvie Bono of Paris, France and Salvatore and Phyllis Abate of Arthur. Fondly remembered by her many nieces, nephews and friends. Predeceased by her parents Salvatore and Girolama Bono, brothers Saro and Antonio and sister Graziella. The family received friends at the Crawford Funeral Chapel, Arthur, 243 George Street on Sunday, March 12, 2017. A Funeral Mass was Celebrated in the St. John’s Roman Catholic Church Arthur on Monday, March 13, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. Spring Interment in St. John’s Roman Catholic Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy donations to the Arthur Optimist Splash Pad project or the Charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.
