GUELPH – One of Guelph’s annual funding programs has adapted quickly to a COVID world and has announced plans to support local charitable work in the short and long term.
“We have evolved our original plans many times since the beginning of the year,” reflected Oak Tree co-founder Will Mactaggart.
“Thanks to our funding partners, local charities and the University of Guelph we have found a creative way to help support our community today and in the future.”
The Oak Tree Project has reached out to its partners to raise over $30,000 for the Guelph Community Foundation/United Way COVID relief effort.
These funds will be distributed by the Community Foundation to charitable organizations in need of immediate help.
Oak Tree also launched its 2020 granting program with an exciting new partnership that will help charities strengthen their ideas while gaining valuable learning.
c“We are excited to partner with the Community Engaged Scholarship Institute and ICON programs at the University of Guelph,” shared Mike Hryn, Oak Tree Project co-founder.
Full details about the application process can be found at OakTreeGuelph.ca.
Applications are now open and charities have until July 15 to submit their proposals.
The Oak Tree Project was established in 2014 by the Mactaggart Family to empower Guelph/Wellington charities offering a new approach to corporate social responsibility.
