Nurses across the province are being celebrated during Nursing Week from May 9 to 15, coinciding with the birthday of Florence Nightingale, considered the founder of modern nursing.
This year, the Registered Nurses Association of Ontario is celebrating with the theme Nursing Through Crisis.
“RNAO is proud to recognize all nurses for the quality of care they provide to patients, clients and long-term care residents. From the bedside to the classroom and the boardroom, nurses make Ontario, our country and the world a healthier place,” RNAO officials state.
With the world in crisis for more than two years battling COVID-19, the association says it’s fitting that Nursing Through Crisis is the theme for Nursing Week 2022.
“Nurses and other health-care workers around the world have endured unprecedented pressure and stress as a result of the pandemic. And, as nurses always do, we have risen to the task and stayed committed to delivering and advocating for quality care.”
