Nominations now open for the Ontario Junior Citizen Awards

ONTARIO – Nominations are now open for the 2021 Ontario Junior Citizen Awards.

The Ontario Community Newspapers Association (OCNA) asks the community to join in celebrating the contributions and achievements of today’s youth who are working hard to make a difference in communities across the province.

Coordinated by the OCNA on behalf of its 215 members, the award gives individuals the opportunity to show readers and advertisers they are a leader in their own community.

All nominees will receive a certificate of recognition.

The 12 final recipients, along with their family members, will be invited to a special ceremony in the spring of 2022.

The OCNA asks the community to help to recognize the incredible determination, imagination, and spirit of outstanding young citizens between the ages of six to 17 who are bettering Ontario’s communities.

If you know someone who is involved in worthwhile community service, is contributing while living with a limitation, has performed a heroic act, demonstrates individual excellence, or is going above and beyond to help others, the OCNA asks you to nominate them for a 2021 Ontario Junior Citizen Award.

All information about the program, including the nomination forms, is available at www.ocna.org/juniorcitizen. The deadline for submissions is Feb. 11.

Any Ontario resident aged six to 17 years is eligible to receive an Ontario Junior Citizen Award. Only individuals may be nominated.
