The Centre Wellington Chamber of Commerce, along with its sponsors, is seeking nominations for its Awards of Excellence.
The annual event is open to all businesses and residents in Centre Wellington.
“There is a bit of a misunderstanding that a business needs to be a chamber member to be nominated or to win … the chamber welcomes nominations within the Centre Wellington community,” officials state.
Organizers often hear after the gala that a specific business should have been nominated well after the event.
Now is the time to submit a nomination.
“This is going to be a stellar event … to come out and network with and celebrate business in Centre Wellington,” stated awards committee chairperson Michele Mactaggart.
“Nominees are all delivered a certificate of nomination to acknowledge their nomination. All nominees are also encouraged to attend the gala.
“The theme this year is Grand Masquerade. Some guests embrace the theme and have a lot of fun.”
Check out the chamber website at www.cwchamber.ca then click the awards nomination banner.
Most of the 15 categories can be nominated online. A few require photos or letters of support to be emailed.
“This is a major fundraiser for the Centre Wellington Chamber of Commerce.” said general manager Roberta Scarrow.
“The chamber is a not-for-profit organization. The funds raised pay for the event and help the chamber with operational costs. As a membership organization funds raised from events also help to keep the annual member dues down.”
The awards gala takes place May 16 at the Fergus Grand Theatre and tickets will be available at Scotiabank starting March 1. The early bird rate is $65 per person, including HST. After April 1 the price is $70.

The deadline for nominations is March 17 at 4pm.
