Nominate an Everyday Hero in the UGDSB

GUELPH – Local school communities wouldn’t be what they are without exceptional staff, students, volunteers and community members, Upper Grand District School Board officials said.

“Now’s your chance to recognize that person who goes the extra mile to make the Upper Grand an amazing place to work and learn,” officials continue.

Nominations are now open for the 2020 Everyday Hero Awards.

Tireless school volunteers, dedicated teachers, school and board staff, bus drivers who dedicate their time for our kids, crossing guards who save lives – anyone who goes above and beyond is being sought by the board to honour as an Everyday Hero.

Eligibility

Eligible candidates can be an employee, student, volunteer, individual or community group active in schools – anyone who has a relationship with the system across Dufferin and Wellington Counties and the City of Guelph.

Criteria

Criteria for the award includes:

– the performance of duties at a high level at all times;

– a significant school or system-related achievement;

– a specific innovation or achievement of significant value or importance to the system; or

Past recipients include a student who became a champion for youth mental health, a class who raised funds for a new wheelchair for their classmate and staff and community members who quite literally saved lives in local communities.
