NFU seeking nominees for Sustainable Farming Awards

The Waterloo – Wellington Local 340 of the National Farmers Union in Ontario will present the fifth annual Sustainable Farming Awards at their AGM on March 28, 2014 at the Elora Legion.

The organization is looking for nominations in the areas of barn preservation, sustainable farming, and future farmers. Effectively, this recognizes farmers past, present and future, the NUF states in a press release.

“It is our extreme pleasure to recognize and celebrate our fellow farmers that provide quality, healthy food, practice environmental stewardship, and continuing success in their chosen vocation,” stated Linda Laepple, president of the NFU Waterloo-Wellington Local 340, and a local organic farmer.

For more information on how you can nominate a farmer please contact Laepple, or visit the website at www.nfuontario.ca to download or print a nomination form.
