A plywood duck will soon be announcing the Arthur Lions Club’s next Rubber Duck Race.
Jim Joyce, of the Arthur Lions Club, recently wrote to council to once more use the plywood duck for advertising the annual event.
The group is also asking to allow the temporary closing of Francis Street between George Street (Highway 6) and Charles Street on May 10 between 9:30am and 3:00pm.
Council had no issue with either request.
Mayor Mike Broomhead said the event was significantly expanded last year “and was a huge success.”
